Every spring Vancouver turns pink and white. A phenomenal 40,000 trees that most people blindly walk past for much of the year suddenly bloom and magically brighten up the city. 

When the rain later comes and knocks all the blossom off those trees, it creates an eye-catching carpet like the one that greeted me outside a SkyTrain station last week.
